The Dockers have made wholesale changes to the technical bench, including the addition of former Gor Mahia goalkeeper Jerim Onyango.
Bandari FC head coach Twahir Muhiddin has explained why the club had to make wholesale changes to the technical bench, including the appointment of former Gor Mahia and Harambee Stars goalkeeper Jerim Onyango from Kariobangi Sharks.
The Dockers are trying to make changes that will edge them closer to winning a first piece of silverware since laying their hands on the FKF Shield in 2019, which allowed them to qualify for the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup.

Apart from Onyango, Bandari also appointed former Harambee Stars striker John Baraza as an assistant coach, Douglas Mutua as team manager, and Yusuf Ndere as strength and conditioning coach.
“John Baraza was my player at Oserian. We won two league titles together and also finished runners-up on a couple of occasions. He went on to play for Tusker, played professionally, and also played for Harambee Stars at the AFCON,” Muhhidin said.

FKFPL: How McKinstry turned Gor Mahia hotshot Benson Omala into a goal scoring machine
Under McKinstry, the Gor Mahia forward has gone from an ordinary goal-getter to a record chasing machine. Here is why.
“Jerim Onyango won titles with Gor Mahia, played for Harambee Stars, and also represented Gor continentally year in, year out. That is the kind of experience we need.
“Douglas Mutua is a former Harambee Stars player who also played professionally. Yusuf Ndere played internationally, in Norway and Qatar, and is a board-certified strength and conditioning coach from the USA.”

None of the Kenyans emerged victorious in both games with their respective teams.
Muhiddin, who does not plan to be in the dugout beyond the end of the new season, says the intention is to ensure he leaves the foundations laid and “in safe hands” under the vastly experienced new technical bench in order to help the club strive to be successful on and off the pitch.
“The bench is strong and is in safe hands. That was the assignment given to me by the former office.

Muhiddin initially had no plans of staying as head coach beyond the end of the season, but was convinced to have a change of heart and will be taking charge of the dockers for the 2023/2024 season.
“The new office ratified the decision the former office managers had put forward when they let Kimani go. The whole bench was to go but I pleaded with the office not to let them go until the end of the season, and they gave me the go-ahead.
“However, the new office wanted new changes so we had to change.”
