Rivers Angels remain the queens of the FA Cup after seeing off a spirited Naija Ratels in the final of the President Federation Cup.

Rivers Angels have finally ended their FA Cup drought, winning the prestigious competition for the first time since 2018.

Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that the Angels' 1-0 victory against the newcomers Naija Ratels was secured thanks to a late penalty from the talismanic Blessing Okpe.

The Ratels, making their first-ever appearance in the final, started the game strongly and had the Angels on the back foot.

However, the experience of the now nine-time champions proved to be the decisive factor, as they managed to hold on to the slender lead in a tightly contested affair.

This victory is delightful for the Angels, who had suffered the agony of losing three finals in the last six years.

But today, they have finally broken that curse and will be cashing out a whopping 25 million Naira in prize money.

Despite their best efforts, the Naija Ratels were unable to clinch the trophy on their maiden appearance in the final.

This victory for the Rivers Angels not only ends their six-year drought but also solidifies their place as the most successful team in the history of the FA Cup.

With nine titles to their name, they continue to cement their legacy as the dominant force in Nigerian women's football.
