Simba SC head coach Robertinho Oliviera knows how essential role fans play, especially in games like the one his side will be involved in on Sunday.

The Brazilian tactician will be taking charge of his first Kariakoo Derby with Simba and has called out the Msimbazi faithful to come in droves and support the team against Young Africans on Sunday at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

“I respect my opponent tomorrow; our objective is to respect but play well to win the game,” Robetinho told a packed press room in Dar-es-Salaam.

“To the fans, please come and support your coach, your players, and your club because when you come in numbers, we can play with 12 players and not 11 players.”

Msimbazi is in dire need of maximum points against Young Africans; Oliviera’s side is on 60 points, eight behind their arch-rivals after 25 games.

Uganda Cranes assistant captain Khalid Aucho will be expected to boost Young Africans along with in-form forward Fiston Mayele; the latter has scored 16 league goals so far.

Simba, on the other hand, are counting on the creative midfield gem Clatous Chota Chama who has picked up 14 assists in as many games along with in-form forward Jean Baleke.

Baleke, on loan from TP Mazembe, has scored nine in six league goals so far.
