Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has dubbed Spain International Rodri as the best midfielder in Europe.
Many regard Manchester City’s Belgian star Kevin de Bruyne as the best midfielder in European football, but the manager of the treble winners believes that title belongs to Rodrigo Hernandez Cascante (Rodri).
The 27-year-old Spanish international joined the Premier League champions in the summer of 2019 after a spell in LALIGA spanning two clubs, Villarreal and Atletico Madrid. He struggled in parts in his first season but has since risen in prominence and level of performance.

What Guardiola said about Rodri
Rodri functions primarily as a pivot for Manchester City, a breakwater for their backline, and the progressor-in-chief, but recently he has added goals to his game—important goals, as he scored the goal that earned the Cityzens their first-ever Champions League title.
He was also on the scoresheet frequently during City’s run to their third consecutive Premier League title. Rodri scored again today in their 3-1 victory over Red Star Belgrade in the first game as they begin their UCL games; that, coupled with his immense performance and all-round play, led Guardiola to this bold claim.

The Catalan manager said Rodri is the best midfielder and that he is excited they signed him when they did.
"Right now he's the best,” Pep said, per Goal.
“Hopefully he can be better and improve, but he's an extraordinary holding midfielder. We were lucky the club signed this player, and when he arrived, he wasn't this type of player. Now he's one of the captains. He's a top-class player."
