Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in a blockbuster deal in January after his contract was terminated by Manchester United, and he expressed his intention to help the Saudi Pro League grow into one of the best in the world.

After only six months in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has had to reiterate his initial plan to help Saudi Arabia’s football grow.

Ronaldo confirmed that he has no intention of leaving Saudi Arabia earlier than planned, as he still has one and a half years on his current contract.

Ronaldo was quoted by Spanish outlet Relevo as saying, “I want to continue here. I will continue here, and I think if they keep doing it the way they want to do it, in the next few years the Saudi League can be among the top five in the world.”

The Portuguese forward was unable to help Al-Nassr win any silverware in his first half-season, despite scoring 14 goals in 19 games in less than six months with the club.

His comments suggest that he will try again next season, as he could potentially welcome more stars to the Saudi Pro League.
