UGANDA CUP Round of 16 battles begin

Wakiso Giants will welcome coach Alex Isabirye to the hot seat at Vipers at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium in Wakiso.

At least three teams outside the Startimes Uganda Premier League will be present in the quarterfinal of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

This is after the round of 16 draws pitted at least three teams together in juicy matchups that kick off on Tuesday and run until Monday next week.

Wakiso Giants will welcome coach Alex Isabirye to the hot seat at Vipers at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium in Wakiso.

Across town, Soltilo Bright Stars will face giant-killer Kiyinda Boys from Mityana who play in the Buganda Regional league.

Record joint Cup holders Express will host Paidha Black Angels at Wankulukuku on Wednesday, the same day Simeone Masaba starts his tenure at BUL against his former side.

KCCA will test the abilities of high-flying Startimes FUFA Big League side Mbarara City on Friday at Lugogo.

From there, it will be a battle of the Big and  Regional League sides as Calvary host Kitara and Adjumani play Bunyagururu on Sunday before Police and Ndejje University complete the rooster on Monday.

All 16 teams are guaranteed of at least shs.3 million as prize money for reaching this stage. Winners from here will see the money doubled, semi-finalists will get at least shs.12 million while the winner and losing finalists take shs. 50 and shs.20 million respectively.
