Since joining Tusker FC, Ryan Ogam has emerged as a standout striker, transforming his role and dominating FKF-PL goal charts.

Dressing room whispers at Tusker FC hinted at a new star in the making when Ryan Ogam joined the club in August.

A defensive midfielder by trade, few could have predicted the meteoric rise of the 22-year-old in his debut season at the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL).

Now, as the year draws to a close, Ogam has cemented his place as one of the league’s most electrifying talents.

Standing at five feet six inches, the lanky striker is defying odds and towering over his competitors in more ways than one.

With 13 goals to his name, nearly double that of his closest challenger, Francis Kahiro of KCB, Ogam is firmly on track to claim the prestigious Golden Boot award.

Speaking after his latest performance—a crucial goal in Tusker’s 3-1 win over Posta Rangers—Ogam revealed his lofty ambitions for the season.

“When we started the season, my target was to score 10 goals. Now that I have surpassed that, I would like to end the first leg of the season on 15 goals,” said Ogam as quoted by Nation.

The accolades have not come by chance.

Ogam’s transformation from a defensive midfielder at Rainbow FC to a lethal striker under the guidance of coach Charles Okere is a story of adaptability, hard work, and raw talent.

Okere, who has a long history with Ogam, saw untapped potential in the young player and took the bold step of repositioning him as a forward.

“The way you train is the way you play. He (Ogam) is training well, and scoring goals in training. He is aggressive, and he has the energy and the will. Definitely, he will get more minutes moving forward,” Okere remarked, lauding Ogam’s work ethic.

The decision to deploy Ogam as a striker has paid off handsomely.

In just 15 matches, he has racked up an impressive tally, including three braces and a hat trick.

His adaptability to the rigors of the FKF-PL and his natural flair for scoring have made him a revelation.

Ogam himself is brimming with confidence as he looks to build on his stellar form.

“I have been working on my physique. I am adjusting to the league, and I am surely moving forward. I will certainly be able to cope up well with the league,” Ogam said, hinting at even greater heights in the second half of the season.

Tusker FC, tied on points with KCB but ranked second due to goal difference, has benefited greatly from Ogam’s contributions.

With three games left before concluding their first-leg campaign, the Brewers are counting on their new talisman to keep delivering.

Ogam’s knack for scoring crucial goals has bolstered Tusker’s aspirations of reclaiming the league title.

The young striker’s impact extends beyond goals. His determination and humility have made him a fan favorite.

Winning the hearts of supporters and teammates alike, Ogam has shown that with the right mindset, any challenge can be turned into an opportunity.

The curtain falls on 2024, marking Ryan Ogam’s inspiring journey from an unassuming midfielder at Rainbow FC to one of the FKF-PL’s most talked-about players.

If his first season is any indication, Ryan Ogam is poised to become a household name in Kenyan football.
