Liverpool icon Roberto Firmino has opened up on the relationship between Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Roberto Firmino has shed light on what was an intense, sometimes frosty relationship between Liverpool icons Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Firmino, along with Salah and Mane formed one of the deadliest trios in football history, winning multiple trophies together including the UEFA Champions League and Premier League title in 2020.
Despite their great success together, it soon became apparent that Salah and Mane did not enjoy the best relationship, at least on the pitch — with the Egyptian often neglecting his Senegalese teammate to chase personal records.

“They were never best friends; each kept himself to himself.
"It was rare to see the two of them talking and I’m not sure if that had to do with the Egypt–Senegal rivalry in African competitions.
"I truly don’t know. But they also never stopped talking, never severed ties. They always acted with the utmost professionalism.
"Salah and Mane had had their little problems before, but that time [against Burnley] everything happened on the field, there for the world to see."
Sadio Mane has since moved on, leaving the club in the summer of 2022 to join Bayern Munich, a move that didn't work out.
The Senegal international now plays his football in the Saudi Pro League, forming a deadly attacking duo with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr.
