“We want to encourage both boys and girls, and even people living with disabilities to register. It will be seven months of continuous activities supporting communities and we will be spending up to 400 million shillings to achieve this.”

Ndegwa also revealed "excitement" at seeing this year's edition potentially producing more stars.

“I feel alot of excitement showcasing the youth. We have been getting big feedback from people demanding Chapa Dimba makes a return. It is important to give the youth hope and give the youth an environment to compete and also have a dream to deliver for the future.”

Alot of stakeholders have been bemoaning the state of pitches and turfs such as Camp Toyoyo. Quizzed if there were plans to help in renovating them, Ndegwa said that Safaricom were open to helping fund the process.”

“ We want to support as many people as possible. We want to invest in the youth at Mashinani level. Most of the money will go into funding the tournament.
