Sakari has won nine caps for Kenya.

Tusker FC right back Daniel Sakari is keen to establish himself as a mainstay in the Harambee Stars squad ahead of the national team’s trip to Mauritius for the four nations series set to take place next week.

Sakari was named in Engin Firat’s provisional squad for the tournament as he continues to build a team for future competitive challenges.

The defender, who made his international debut against Malawi under Francis Kimanzi in 2019 has gone on to amass more caps under his belt, but since the arrival of new head coach Engin Firat, has yet to start a game.

“I think it is just a matter of time before I establish myself. I am working towards becoming a household name,” Sakari told Pulse Sports.

Sakari predominantly plays as a right back, but can also play as a left back or a central midfielder. He is an excellent dead ball specialist renowned for his long throw trait which can give other teams all sorts of problems.

Sakari will be keen to use the tour to establish himself under Engin Firat, before coming to help Tusker complete the double of league and cup as he has been absent following the unfortunate death of his father in mid may.
