Tore Bobe's relentless effort fell short against Bandari on Sunday with coach Kambona reflecting on missed opportunities in a tense match.

Shabana FC assistant coach Oscar Kambona could not hide his disappointment as he watched his team miss one opportunity after another in their 2-1 loss to Bandari FC.

Despite a commendable performance, Shabana's string of missed chances at the Mabraki Sports Club in Mombasa on Sunday saw them slump to their third consecutive defeat in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL).

The match, which began with an energetic pace, saw Bandari striker Derrick Nsibambi break the deadlock, giving his team a 1-0 lead heading into the half-time break.

Bandari's relentless offense continued into the second half, with defender Andrew Juma finding the net four minutes after the hour mark, a blow that seemed to seal Shabana's fate.

However, the Glamour Boys refused to go down without a fight, and in an inspiring burst of energy, Nehemiah ‘Neymar’ Onchiri clawed one back for the visitors four minutes from the final whistle.

Bandari stood their ground in the added minutes to secure the three points, climbing to sixth place on the table with 16 points.

In the aftermath of another defeat, pressure has undoubtedly mounted on Shabana's head coach Sammy Okoth, who had briefly resigned the previous weekend only to retract his decision.

Okoth avoided the limelight and the probing questions of the media, leaving Kambona to address the performance in the post-match interview.

"We played well, but we have to blame ourselves for the silly mistakes in the backline that led to us conceding goals. My boys played a good game; we created chances but failed to utilize them," Kambona stated, visibly frustrated by the outcome.

On the flip side, Bandari coach John Baraza praised his opponents for their resilience and acknowledged the competitive nature of the league.

"It shows that in this league, there are no easy teams. Our opponents may be placed lower in the league standings, but you can see that they really pushed us and played well," Baraza remarked.

He further elaborated on the challenges his team faced, "We knew the game would be hard because they hadn't scored any points in the last two matches, and we expected them to pile at the back and push hard for a win."

The defeat sends Shabana FC to the foot of the 18-team table with a meager seven points from 11 matches.
