Defending champions St. Lawrence University, Mutoola, Jinja Lions and MS Sand Lions have qualified for playoffs in the 2023 FUFA Beach Soccer League.
MS Sand Lions grabbed the final slot to the 2023 FUFA Beach Soccer League following their 6-2 victory over Grace Church on Sunday at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
Yusuf Joloba grabbed a hattrick, Simon Kizito contributed a brace as Rajab Okello put the game beyond Grace’s reach.
Defending champions St. Lawrence University qualified as the best team from the regular season alongside Mutoola and Jinja Lions.
MS Sand Lions entered the final day of the regular season with 25 points and needed to win at least a match to fend off competition from Buganda Royal who had two games at hand.
The Royals beat Kiringete 6-5 in their first game but lost 4-1 to Mutoola.
In the other games, SLAU engaged their beast mode to beat second and third-placed Mutoola and Jinja Lions to give a hint of what should be expected in the playoffs next weekend.
