Lionel Messi has released a statement apologising for leaving the club without authorised permission.
The Argentine was recently suspended for two weeks and also fined after missing a training session without permission owing to a commercial commitment in Saudi Arabia.
Messi’s punishment will be that he won’t enter the club facilities and will miss two Ligue 1 games against Troyes and Ajaccio.
