Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi is said to have been handed a two-week suspension by the club.
However, the Argentine was not given permission and was suspended for two games and fined two weeks' wages after a meeting between the club's top management.
The suspension means the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner will miss Ligue 1 matches against Troyes and Ajaccio, but is set to return for the game against Auxerre later on May 21.
Meanwhile, PSG are understood to consider their move to sign Messi a success on and off the pitch, but a section of the fans have never been convinced by the Barcelona legend.
