The Super Eagles forward could return to the Serie A for over N8.4 billion.

Cyriel Dessers, the Belgian-born Nigerian international, finds himself at a crossroads in his football career at Scottish side Glasglow Rangers.

Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that Rangers have named the condition to let the Super Eagles striker leave the club after an enquiry from the Serie A for his service.

After a successful stint with Cremonese in the Italian Serie A, where his seven goals and two assists helped the club avoid relegation, Dessers made the move to the Scottish Premier League giants, Rangers, in the summer of 2023.

The 29-year-old striker hit the ground running at his new club, netting an impressive 22 goals and providing 9 assists in his 54 appearances for the Gers.

However, it seems that his time in Scotland may be short-lived, as Serie A side Cagliari have set their sights on bringing the Super Eagles forward back to Italy.

The Sardinians have made their interest known, but the price tag set by Rangers, reported to be around 5 million Euros, could prove to be a stumbling block for the Italian club.

Cagliari's financial situation has led them to explore a loan option with an obligation to buy, should Dessers help them maintain their Serie A status next season according to the Italian website Football Italia.

While the potential move to Cagliari has captured the attention of the football world, Dessers' future remains uncertain.

Sky Sports pundit Dan Bardelli has advised Rangers to hold on to the former Europa Conference League top scorer, citing his importance as a goal-scorer and the difficulty in replacing players with such proven goalscoring ability.

The situation has become even more intriguing as other clubs, including the Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki, have also expressed interest in the Nigerian international.

As Dessers and his representatives weigh this delicate situation, the focus will be on finding the right balance between his ambitions and the needs of the clubs vying for his services.
