And, while the former Uganda Cranes tactician is open to Bissaka joining DRC, he has stressed that the latter will be kept from being chased around.

Manchester United defender Aaron Wan Bissaka is reportedly set to switch international allegiances from England to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Born to DRC parents in England, Bissaka holds duo citizenship but has majorly represented the latter in the underage levels.

His only youthful game with DRC came in 2015 with the Under 20s, but he has since played for England's youth teams.

However, over the years, he has been snubbed for a call to Three Lions (England's senior team) and is thus seriously considering a switch to DRC under head coach Sebastien Desabre.

And, while the former Uganda Cranes tactician is open to Bissaka joining DRC, he has stressed that the latter will be kept from being chased around.

"He is a nice player, as you know, but we won't run after players," Desabre was quoted by United Truthful.

DRC has already qualified for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations slated for Ivory Coast as group leaders on Desabre's first asking.

"We have many players who worked very hard for us to qualify for AFCON."

"If Aaron or other players are at a good level and want to come, there is no problem," the French tactician reiterated.

Bissaka's only senior call in August 2019 ended prematurely as he was forced to withdraw from the squad through injury.

It's unlikely he'll be called up soon as England's right-back position is stacked with Trent Alexander Arnold, Reece James, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker and others.
