Kampala Queens has boosted their squad with marquee signings of experienced and talented national team players.
On Saturday, Kampala Queens tested their new arsenal when they thumped Yei Joints Stars from South Sudan 3-0 in their opening match of the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA qualifiers.
The team’s rich lineup was on show as some top names started from the bench.
They included Under-20 captain Shakirah Nyinagahirwa, Crested Cranes stars Hadijah Nandago, Zaina Namuleme, Samalie Nakacwa and Margaret Kunihira and Rwandan forward Florence Imanizabayo.

The team has always raised questions on how the coaches can strike a balance to manage the squad but Coach Charles Ssenyange says he has no selection headache believing that the star-studded squad works for the team’s interests.
“I don’t feel any pressure because I’m just blessed that I’ve got enough arsenal,” Ssenyange told Pulse Sports.
“It’s not a problem but a solution because I’ve got a wider pool from which I can select my players. I can easily rotate the players to adjust to the demand of the game because everyone that comes on that pitch is good enough,” he says.
Ssenyange handed debuts to Fazila Ikwaput, Nyinagahirwa, Nandago and Imanizabayo.
