Should their Young Lions of Teranga go ahead to beat Gambia to the 2023 U20 Africa Cup of Nations title, the West African country will boast of four continental trophies.
Their Sand Lions of Teranga beat Egypt to win the 2022 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations in Mozambique last year and will therefore take part in this year’s FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup around November.
The team also boasts reigning Africa’s most valuable player and top scorer Mandione Diagne and the continent’s safest hands Al Seyni N’Diaye.
Their senior men’s national team The Lions of Teranga are the reigning African Champions after winning their first Africa Cup of Nations title last year in Cameroon.
Their local-based squad followed in the same footsteps to win the Africa Nations Championship earlier this year in Algeria.
