Celebrated music star Akon will grace the draws of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations that will be held on Thursday 12th October, in Ivory Coast, CAF has confirmed.

Toure was named an ambassador for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast next year.

“AKON’s hosting of the Final Draw, alongside Touré, adds even more star power to what is set to be a glitzy, glamorous, eagerly anticipated occasion, as the 24 qualified nations discover their group stage opponents,” said after the announcement.
“The Senegalese hitmaker is a huge football fan and social activist whose ‘Akon Lighting Africa’ project seeks to use solar electricity to help African countries meet their basic electricity needs,” CAF added.

CAF revealed that the draws will be held at the brand-new Parc Des Expositions venue in Abidjan from 10 PM East African time and will be beamed on their official YouTube channel.
The 34th edition of the premier African football tournament will be played in Ivory Coast from January 13th to February 11th next year.

The 24 teams have been seeded into four pots where each will be drawn following the laid procedures.
Pot 1 has the hosts Ivory Coast, Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt.

The final pot of the lowly-ranked teams, according to the FIFA rankings, contains Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Namibia, Angola, Gambia and lastly Tanzania.
One team will be drawn per pot and placed in a group; two teams from the same pot cannot meet in the groups.
