Shabana secretary general Elizaphan Kerama has lashed out at a section of the club’s supporters for being ‘plastic fans’ who are always keen to ensure the team does not succeed
Shabana secretary general Dr Elizaphan Kerama has called out a section of the club’s supporters for always being motivated to bring instability to the team.
Some Shabana fans had started calling for coach Sammy Okoth’s sacking when the club failed to win any of their opening five Football Kenya Federation Premier League matches, frustrating the tactician who nearly threw in the towel last month.
Okoth felt his team was on the right track despite failing to win and just needed patience before he delivered Tore Bobe’s first victory of the season when they beat Tusker FC 1-0 last week.

FKFPL Shabana makes plea to fans after FKF warning
Shabana praised for passion, faces FKF sanctions due to fan misconduct as the club urges discipline.
Kerama feels the real Shabana fans, including the club hierarchy, never doubted Okoth and his team but it is a few who are always keen to antagonise the playing unit because they do not want the team to succeed.
“We have been good only that luck was not on our side. Even on matchday one, the boys were playing well and we are happy to have broken the duck,” said Kerama.

FKFPL Peter Ogechi 'Maestro'- Shabana comes first before any individual accolades
Despite already scoring two goals this season, the lanky Shabana midfielder is adamant that the team should come first before individual accolades, which is what he is totally focused on at the moment.
“We have genuine and plastic fans. The plastic fans are the ones that always want something bad to happen to the team.
“This is because we have several forces in Shabana who have been motivated to bring instability to the team. Our genuine fans knew that luck was not on our side when we were not winning and were patient with the team.”

FOOTBALL Shabana boss responds to FKF following warning over fan misconduct
Shabana secretary general Elizaphan Kerama has reacted to a warning from FKF following incidents of bad behaviour from a section of Tore Bobe supporters
They are the same fans the club official blamed for the bad behaviour in Shabana’s recent matches when FKF sent them a warning for breaking a fence at Ulinzi Sports Complex and hurling objects onto the field at Kasarani Stadium.
Kerama has, meanwhile, attributed last week’s win to the club’s decision to ensure the team stayed in Nairobi prior to the meeting with Robert Matano’s men.

FKFPL Shabana coach Sammy Okoth bemoans stressful FIFA break amidst victory highs
Shabana FC clinched a 1-0 victory over Tusker on Friday, but coach Okoth expresses stress over the impending FIFA break, fearing it will disrupt their momentum
“What we did to encourage the win against Tusker is that after the AFC Leopards game, which we should have won, we decided that the boys camp in Nairobi so that there were no hassles of traveling for long distances and they remained focused on the game. We eliminated many distractions and this contributed greatly to the win against Tusker,” added Kerama.
Shabana will face Nairobi City Stars in their next league match at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay on October 22.
