The Glamour Boys' next game will be against bottom-placed Silibwet.
Shabana FC head coach Sammy Okoth is refusing to get too ahead of himself despite the Glamour Boys having stretched their lead at the top of the National Super League (NSL) log to 11 points.
The Kisii-based side most recently earned three vital points against Kajiado FC putting them in pole position going into the second leg of the competition.
But while all the stars seem to be aligning for Okoth and his troops, the Shabana mentor is not taking anything for granted just yet.
“We are happy that we are leading the league at the moment but it is too early to say that the league is wrapped up because there is still a long way to go.
But our aim is to still win the league title and get promoted to the FKF Premier League,” Okoth said in an interview with Citizen TV.
However, despite the good run, Okoth noted that Shabana has been facing financial challenges since the demise of club chairman Nyandoro Kambi.

“The challenge we have is that we normally depend on contributions from the fans and well-wishers and it is not all days that they have money.
We sometimes depend on gate collections and sometimes you find that the money collected cannot finance our operations.
However, to forget all the troubles that we are going through is to play good football and attract fans because we take each game as a final,” he added.
