Shamir Kimwero: Top sides eyeing summer move for talented NEC midfielder

He has established himself as one of Hussein Mbalangu's most trusted players, featuring in 14 of NEC's 15 games so far in the Uganda Premier League.

It's only days since the January transfer window got shut down, but teams are already looking at possible reinforcements for the future.

NEC midfielder Shamir Kimwero is the subject of early transfer talk halfway through the 2023/24 campaign.

Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC,  URA FC and Vipers SC have reportedly put strong tabs on the player and are trying to lure him come June.

Reliable sources close to the player have revealed to this website that KCCA are ahead in the race to net down Kimwero.

The club's technical team have been impressed by the player and intends to add him to a midfield that already has the likes of Joel Sserunjogi, Ashraf Mugume, Emmanuel Wasswa, Saidi Mayanja and others.

Its also believed that Kimwero is keen on an exit from NEC in search of greener pastures.

In the current season, Kimwero is one of the standout performers in his position in the league.
