The former NIC player was the league’s leading shooter last season with 564 goals, which helped propel Storm into the top-four in 2023.

She Cranes Goal Shooter Peace Proscovia will stay for at least another season at UK side Surrey Storm.

The club announced Friday afternoon that the Ugandan international would be playing her third season with them.

“Surrey Storm are delighted to announce that fan favourite and She Crane Peace Proscovia will enter her third season with the club,” a statement from the team revealed.

The former NIC player was the league’s leading shooter last season with 564 goals, which helped propel Storm into the top-four in 2023.

She, however, had to withdraw from the squad in May on medical grounds.

Proscovia also missed Uganda’s third-straight appearance at Netball World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa.

She won the Gilbert golden shot award at the end of the 2022 Vitality Super League netball season in the United Kingdom, scoring 853 goals.

She was also named the starting GS in the All Star VII, as voted for by all the NSL clubs.

“Having played two seasons for Storm there is no other place I would have asked to be at than Storm. I’m grateful for another opportunity to play for the side,” Proscovia revealed.

Her accolades at the international level include playing at the 2015 Netball World Cup and leading Uganda at the 2019 World Cup and 2018 Commonwealth Games.

She also captained Uganda to victory at the Africa Netball Championships held in Kampala 2017.

Previously, Proscovia played for Loughborough Lightning in the NSL and Sunshine Coast Lightening in Australia.

Surrey Storm head coach Mikki Austin said: “We are incredibly excited to re-sign Peace for her third season at Surrey Storm. Peace is a world class shooter who was formidable last season, until she stepped away just before finals. We are thrilled that Peace will continue in our club colours, and we look forward to build on the inroads made as a team to progress further as well as her individual league leading goal tally.”

The news comes hours after another Ugandan player, Haniisha Muhameed, signed for the same team.
