Raja Casablanca is currently ranked the fourth-best club on the continent via the CAF 5-year ranking system after reaching the semi-finals in the 2019/20 and quarterfinal stage last year.
Simba’s head coach Roberto Oliviera has fired warning shots at Raja Casablanca as the two prepare to battle in a CAF Champions League clash on Saturday in Dar Es Salaam.
The Moroccans are three-time champions of the continent having won it in 1989, 1997 and 1999. They also won the Confederations Cup twice in 2018 and 2019 as well as the CAF Super Cup in 200 and 2019.
They come into this fixture on top of Group C after walloping Ugandan champions Vipers 5-0 in Casablanca.
The Brazillian, who coached Vipers to the group stage for the first time in history, believes the Kariakoo giants have what it takes to disappoint the Moroccans.
“I respect Raja Casablanca but Simba is a big club as well,” Robertinho said ahead of the much-hyped Saturday showdown.
“Raja Casablanca has a good history but football is [about] moments. My focus is to prepare a strong team because we have talent. Football has only one result for a big club which is victory,” the coach boasted.
Raja Casablanca is currently ranked the fourth-best club on the continent via the CAF 5-year ranking system after reaching the semi-finals in the 2019/20 and quarterfinal stage last year. Simba is 16th for reaching the quarterfinal twice in the last five seasons.
The match will be played at the 60,000-seater Benjamin Mkapa stadium in Dar es Salaam from 7 pm East African time.
