Musanze FC, strengthened by the presence of former Express FC and Vipers defender Shafik Bakaki, celebrated a 1-0 win, thanks to Peter Agbelover's decisive goal in the 51st minute at Ubworoherane Stadium.
This match marked the second league appearance for goalkeeper Simon Tamale with 'Gikundiro'. Despite his efforts, the pursuit for his first league clean sheet remains elusive.
Musa Esenu, who impressively netted twice in the previous match against Etoile de l’Est, couldn't find the back of the net this time around. Similarly, Charles Bbaale remained goalless, observing the match from the sidelines.
Musanze's victory propels them to the top of the Rwanda Premier League table with 16 points after seven matches, leading by two points over reigning champions APR FC.
Rayon Sport, having tasted defeat for the third consecutive game, now sits in the sixth position with nine points. Their next challenge is against Sunrise FC this coming Saturday.
