Harigingo joins Sofapaka on the back of winning the Rwandan Peace Cup with Rwandan giants Rayon Sports.
Sofapaka’s new Burundian head coach Francis Harigingo has revealed that the project sold to him by the club's president Elly Prezda Kalekwa led to him turning down a number of offers from other teams.
Harigingo, who arrives with assistant coach Pablo Uwimana, recently resigned as the head coach of Rayon Sports in Rwanda and has also been at the helm of Mukura Sports, Police FC as well as Kiyovu Sports.

Last season, Batoto Ba Mungu had to play the full season without a sponsor.
He comes in with a rich pedigree, having won a number of trophies over his career, including the Rwandan Peace Cup with Rayon Sports in June.
As he prepares his team for the new FKFPL season, Harigingo has explained that he has already seen striking differences between the football in Kenya, Rwanda and his native country Burundi.

“The Kenyan league is very different from Burundi and Rwanda. The physicality is much more here and it is also quite fast,” Harigingo after his unveiling as the new Sofapaka coach last week.
“It requires a lot of physicality from the players. I have done my research on the team as well as the others in the league and I know what to expect. This information will also be helpful for me to prepare my team for the new season.”
Harigingo says Sofapaka are “a big club” not just in Kenya, but also in Africa. Although they have become a mid-table club in recent years, Harigingo is determined to awaken the sleeping giant and return the club back to the heights of winning trophies, having held discussions with Elly Prezda Kalekwa
“I am really delighted to join Sofapaka. For a team like this, a big club, there is always the expectation of winning a trophy and my ambition as well is to come here and help the team do better by winning a title.
