According to sources, the player has already been informed of the imminent decision.

Kenyan forward Ovella Ochieng is set to leave South Africa's Richards Bay.

The Premier Soccer League outfit is reportedly getting ready to let the former Kariobangi Sharks star leave after a short stint with them.

"His agent has been informed of the club’s decision. It is a matter of time before the club makes it an official announcement," a source close to Richards Bay is quoted as saying by Soccer Laduma.

Ochieng joined Richards Bay from Botswana Premier League outfit Township Rollers in December 2022. Initially, he had spells in Sweden with Vassalund, a club he spent time with from 2018 to 2021.

From Europe, he signed for Marumo Gallants, a club he played for for five months, in the PSL in 2021, but his time with them was short as he was on the move again and went to sign for Township Rollers.

Another player who could leave alongside Ochieng is Luvuyo Memela, who had been signed from AmaZulu FC.

Rumours that Ochieng, who made his Harambee Stars debut in 2016 and scored his maiden goal against New Zealand, is leaving Richards Bay have come out after another Kenyan was reported to be close to the exit door in South Africa.

Sven Yidah is said to be on the verge of leaving Gallants after the club was relegated to the Second Division at the end of last season.
