The South Sudanese feel the meeting with Kenya is just what they need having suffered a heavy loss to Mali last week
South Sudan forward Tito Okello is hoping Tuesday’s friendly against Kenya will help his side address some of the problems that has seen them lose their recent matches.
The South Sudanese suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Mali last Friday which added to their catalogue of losses this year, having also lost 3-0 to Egypt, 3-2 to the Gambia and 1-0 against Congo Brazzaville, since beating the Congolese 2-1 in January.
Okello (pictured) feels while it will be a brotherly encounter, it is a perfect opportunity to correct some of their recent mistakes.

FOOTBALL Collins Sichenje revels in nostalgia at Harambee Stars camp ahead of South Sudan clash
Collins Sichenje reminisces about his Kakamega High School days with Eric Ouma at the Harambee Stars training camp, ahead of their match against South Sudan.
“It’s a great feeling, we the East African community it’s always a great feeling. We always feel at home wherever we are,” the Kenya Police striker said after the team landed in Nairobi on Sunday.
“This is like another exercise, we got some few lessons from Mali’s game and now we are here to correct them. So, it is going to be a great game for us.”
It might not be an easy ‘exercise,’ however, for the South Sudanese, who are position 163 on the FIFA ranking, given their opponents (ranked 102) are full of confidence after last Thursday’s 2-1 win over Qatar in Doha.
Engin Firat will be hoping to give home fans something to cheer about at Kasarani Stadium hence the need to field a strong line-up.

FOOTBALL Harambee Stars coach Firat reveals reason behind expansive approach during friendly win over Qatar
Harambee Stars adopted a positive approach in their win over Qatar at the Al Janoub Stadium on Thursday, which excited plenty of fans.
Kenya and South Sudan have faced each other three times with the former winning all of them. Harambee Stars won the first meeting between the two sides 3-1 in November 2013 during the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup that Kenya hosted.
They then claimed a 2-1 victory in June 2015 and 1-0 in March 2021, both friendly matches in Nairobi.
