Rt Hon Anita Annet Among has gifted newly crowned FUFA Women's Super League 2022/23 champions Kampala Queens Shs33m.
The Speaker, also the club's patron, flanked by FUFA president Hon Moses Magogo, made the generous offer to the club on Tuesday morning at her Parliamentary office, where she hosted the players and technical team.
"I want to congratulate you for winning the FUFA Women's Super League trophy. You are champions and have fought very hard to reach this achievement", Among said.
"I applaud your dedication, focus, and discipline that has brought you thus far; cheers to greater victories in the years ahead", she added.
Kampala Queens captain Zainah Namuleme presented the trophy and winner's medal to the Speaker.
"I want to thank very much our honourable Speaker. We feel so much delighted for the support", Namuleme noted.
"Our way forward is to give our best to represent Uganda in the zonal championships. We are so much ready for the tournament," she added.
Kampala Queens will represent Uganda in the Cecafa Regional Qualifiers for the 2023 Caf Women's Champions League.
Uganda will host the tournament, whose venue and dates are yet to be confirmed.
