Sporting Lagos are starring at relegation after a string of poor results in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

Newly promoted NPFL side Sporting Lagos are facing a monster of an opening to the New Year in the nation’s elite Football League.

The NPFL lightweights will kick start 2024 with a daunting schedule for the first few fixtures and it’s far from ideal for the Tech Boys.

After what was a brilliant start to their maiden season in the NPFL, Paul Offor and his Sporting team are flirting with danger in the football league.

After 16 matches so far in the league, Sporting have managed just miserly four wins, five draws and six defeats.

Such a poor return leaves the Tech Boys 15th on the table, with just one point separating them and relegation.

However, according to their calendar, Sporting will have their work cut out in their coming fixtures, with three big games coming up.

They are visitors in Aba to take on defending champions, Enyimba, who are in a rich vein of form, before hosting Shooting Stars at Onikan, where they have struggled to make a fotress.

After the Southwest derby, the Tech Boys will face another difficult away trip as they will be in Benin to buy Bendel Insurance’s market.

With just four wins all season, a look at that run of games shows that Sporting Lagos are in for more nightmares in the NPFL, with relegation looming large.
