Murkomen has sent a motivational message to the national football team Harambee Stars as they prepare to face Cameroon over a two-legged encounter in their quest to qualify for AFCON 2025.
Sports Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has thrown his weight behind Harambee Stars ahead of their do-or-die Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match against Cameroon on Friday.
The CS challenged the team to show passion and play with bravery as the East African nation faces a herculean task against the Indomitable Lions, a team that is a pale shadow of its former self and rocked up by off-field issues.
Murkomen added that the entire country will be cheering the team and that the Engin Firat's charges are better placed to upset their 'fevourites' opponents.
"There's no challenge greater than a heart full of passion. Our eyes are firmly set on the Prize. Come on, Harambee Stars, let's do it!" The CS posted on his X account, formerly Twitter.
The Michael Olunga-captained team will hope to get a result at the Japoma Stadium before switching attention to the return leg that is set for Uganda's Namboole Stadium next week.
Kenya tops Group J with four points but on superior goal difference against second-placed Cameroon. The two teams are favourites to win in the group and both will be keen to avoid any slip ups especially by allowing complacency to creep in their performance.
