Head coach Ssenfuma Mohammad is aware of what his "old boy" Asaph Mwebaze can offer with his Soltilo Bright Stars side, and he says Maroons have prepared well for the game.

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League Match Day 17 gets underway on Friday 24th March with Maroons FC hosting Soltilo Bright Stars in one of the two fixtures on the card.

The Luzira-based Prisons side got off to a good start in the second round with a 1-0 away win against Busoga United and will be hoping to consolidate on their home support to make it two wins in a row.

Head coach Ssenfuma Mohammad is aware of what his "old boy" Asaph Mwebaze can offer with his Soltilo Bright Stars side, and he says Maroons have prepared well for the game.

"We have prepared well physically and mentally.” he noted before adding, “The Busoga win was a motivating factor, that's for sure, but we know that this won't be an easy game.”

“Asaph Mwebaze is a respected coach in Uganda, and we know he is knowledgeable, but we also want to win the game.

“Hopefully, our fans come in large numbers because we need their support as well.”

Soltilo Bright Stars, on the other hand, have only played two Stanbic Uganda Cup games in almost two months, which head coach Mwebaze says has affected them a bit, but they are ready.

"Of course, we have been preparing, only that we have gone close to two months without a competitive league game,” Mwebaze stated.

But we have tried to keep the boys in shape with the two Stanbic Uganda Cup games we played.”

“We know Maroons are dangerous at home, but we have also tried to get decent results away. I would say that is what will motivate us.”

The first-round meeting ended goalless at the Kavumba Recreation Centre.
