With Ssimbwa heading, George Lutalo assisting him, it is hard to see where Twinamsiko will be placed. Richard Makumbi remains the technical director.
Sam Ssimbwa's comments during his unveiling over the weekend at FUFA Big League side Kitara FC have left lingering questions over the future of his predecessor coach Mark Twinamasiko.
The coach was suspended last month as a disciplinary measure but the proceedings almost cast a dark shadow on his return.
The former KCCA and URA coach revealed that he was heavily involved in signing and registering players at the beginning of the season.
He also confirmed an arrangement to take over the club as head coach once they earned promotion back to the top fight.
Uncertainty over return
“The first agreement was that I would join Kitara once they earned a promotion. I do not know what confusion happened before they called me,” he said.
A source close to the club revealed to pulsesports.ug that Twinamsiko was struggling to gain control over his dressing room as several senior players weren’t loyal to him.
The club stated: “Suspension has been done due to continued verbal complaints ranging from among others abusing players on and off a pitch, threatening players not to be included on the starting 18 and sidelining players and other stakeholders.”
The club CEO Joshua Atugonza was hesitant to explain Twinamasiko’s position.
With Ssimbwa heading, George Lutalo assisting him, it is hard to see where Twinamsiko will be placed. Richard Makumbi remains the technical director.
“We shall sit next month to determine his fate whether he will be promoted or demoted,” Atugonza told this website before adding.
“But from what I see, his position has already been occupied though we will have to sit and determine that when the two months are over.”
Kitara resumes their campaign on Thursday with a trip to Lira to face Northern Gateway.
