Back-to-back draws against Booma FC and bottom side Northern Gateway have seen Kitara drop into third on the FUFA Big League table, two points behind leaders NEC FC.
Kitara FC head coach Sam Ssimbwa remains confident that he can steer the club to promotion but remains adamant that he is not a miracle worker.
Ssimbwa’s comments follow backlash from Kitara FC fans who voiced their discontent following a run of dismal draws that has coincided with Ssimbwa’s appointment.

“Rome was not built in a day, and I am not Jesus,” Ssimbwa adamantly replied to the dissenting voices, adding; “They cannot expect me to perform miracles.”
“It is still early days. We have played three games, two draws and one win, it’s not too bad.”
Kitara was top of the Big League standings by the end of the first round, but the four dropped points have seen them lose ground in the race.
Ssimbwa joined Kitara at the end of the first round after the club suspended former coach Alex Twinamatsiko.
“We are still joint top and in the running for promotion, and this business, you cannot win every game. We have to stay realistic. I am aware of the target and promise that we shall achieve it.”
“We are creating chances, but it is all about putting them away, and I am confident that we are on the verge of finding our top level, and when we do that, everyone will be happy,” he continued.
The race for promotion to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League is developing into an exciting one, with five clubs still in contention for the three promotion spots available.
NEC FC leads the way after 17 games on 33 points, Police FC moved ahead of Kitara into second position after a 1-0 defeat over NEC on Friday.
Mbarara City is fourth on the log with 31 points, with fifth-placed Calvary FC also with a realistic chance of getting into the fight.
Kitara returns to action against Jinja North. The two meet on Thursday at the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe.
