Sam Ssimbwa’s slow start has had an effect on Kitara’s match attendance according to the recent statement released by the club.
Kitara made headlines due to their gate collections that rank up there ahead of traditional and more established clubs.
The club announced revenues of over shs.30 million from their three home matches against Ndejje University, Luweero United and Adjumani Town Council in December.
They beat that with a record shs.21 million collected from their derby against Booma that ended 1-all with ‘The Royals’ having to come from a goal down to scrape a point with a late equaliser.
However, the team that had gone three league matches without a win since Sam Ssimbwa took over as coach saw a drop in attendance vis-à-vis gate collections as they struggled to beat Lugazi 1-0 at home.
“We declare that we realized 7.2 million shillings from gate collections. The money will support some club activities in line with our 2022/2023 budget,” Kitara announced.
