Express FC were at their brilliant best as they comfortably dispatched off Busoga United 3-0 in the Uganda Premier League at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, on Tuesday.

Goals from Denis Otim, Joseph Akandanwaho, and substitute Enock Ssebaggala ensured the Red Eagles bounced back from Saturday's disappointing Uganda Cup exit at the hands of Adjumani TC.

Following absolute dominance by James Odoch's charges, they grabbed a 31st-minute opener through Otim's header off a brilliant freekick from Isma Kiwawulo.

'Mukwano Gwabangi' then added another, seven minutes into the second half through Akandanwaho's absolute rocket from outside the box.

For their third, it was a make of substitutes as Faisal Ssekyanzi superbly set up Ssebaggala in the 83rd minute to wrap up an evening of sheer dominion.

The scoreline could have been bigger for Express, but goalkeeper John Okurut deftly denied Akandanwaho in the 68th minute.

Skipper Allan Kayiwa then missed the target in the 71st minute following an overhead kick from a Boban Zilintusa cross.

The result extended Express' recent league form to three wins in succession, and they now sit seventh with 28 points after 21 games. They will visit Soltilo Bright Stars FC in their subsequent match next Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Busoga, who occupy 13th on the 15-team table with 22 points, will return to action with a home tie against neighbours and arch-rivals BUL FC.
