The Harambee Stars midfielder and his teammates will now focus on proceding to the playoff round of the 2024 UEFA Europa League by beating Sherrif Tiraspor on Thursday.
Harambee Stars midfielder Timothy Ouma featured but did little to help prevent IF Elfsborg from losing to Michael Olunga’s former club Djurgaden in an Allsvenskan clash that took place on Sunday evening.
Ouma, who came on as a substitute, featured for 16 minutes, but did not really have enough time to really influence the outcome of the game, with the managerOscar Hiljemark clearly resting him as they prepare to finish the job off in the return leg of the Europa League second qualifying round on Thursday.
The match started with Djurgaden taking possession early on, but neither team created significant scoring chances in the first part of the match. Both sides showed good intensity and engaged in numerous duels on the pitch.

Gor Mahia's Owino reveals formula Brazilian coach Leo Neiva has concocted to take down Corinthians in Nigeria
Owino has explained how new Brazilian coach Leo Neiva has prepared the side to face Corinthians in the Coal City Cup which will take place in Nigeria next week.
After the break, IF Elfsborg came out strong and created an early chance in the 49th minute when Andri Baldursson's shot narrowly missed the left post. Despite showing good speed and combination play, Elfsborg's attacks were thwarted by Djurgaden's defense.
In the middle of the second half, Djurgaden evened out the match and disrupted its flow with a series of interruptions. They regained the lead in the 77th minute with a low shot to the right of Isak Pettersson.
Elfsborg pressed forward in the final minutes, seeking an equalizer, but Djurgaden's defense remained compact. The closest Elfsborg came was a shot by Timothy Ouma from outside the penalty area, which went over the target.
Despite their efforts, IF Elfsborg could not find another goal, and the match ended 2-1 in favor of Djurgaden.
