The Tanzanian giants have confirmed the appointment of Dutchman Mels Daalder as the club’s Chief scout in an announcement made on Wednesday afternoon via the club’s Twitter handle.
After ending a second straight campaign without silverware, Simba SC have immediately embarked on preparations for the new season.
The Tanzanian giants have confirmed the appointment of Dutchman Mels Daalder as the club’s Chief scout in an announcement made on Wednesday afternoon via the club’s Twitter handle.
“The club leadership has appointed Mels Daalder, a Dutch citizen, as a talent scout (Chief Scout head) with experience in scouting various team's,” part of the statement read.
“We are very happy to welcome Mels to come and improve the efficiency of scouting as it’s an important area in the success of our club,” noted the club CEO Imani Kajula.
“We are continuing with the important improvements towards the new league season and international competitions,” he added.
Mels joins with a wealth of experience, and knowledge, he has participated in various courses around the world, including those run by former Manchester United scout David Hobson.
The Dutchman has also lived in Tanzania and is a big Simba fan with adept analysis and knows the Tanzanian league, East Africa and Africa in general, according to the club’s communique.

Salim Abdallah Mhene, Simba’s chairman board of directors, issued the apology on Friday evening through a club press release as he urged the Msimbazi faithful to wait for next season.
Msimbazi is left with two games to wrap up the current campaign; the league was halted to allow rivals Young Africans to prepare for the upcoming CAF Confederations Cup two-legged final against USM Algiers.
Roberto Oliviera’s side plays their two final games at home against Polisi Tanzania and Coastal Union.
