Masandawana ruthlessly demolished African giants Al Ahly 5-2 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday.
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rhulani Mokwena is not about to chest thump following his side's emphatic run in the CAF Champions League group stages on Saturday.
Masandawana ruthlessly demolished African giants Al Ahly 5-2 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday.
Sundowns scored through Marcelo Allende, Themba Zwane, Thoboho Mokwena and Peter Shalulile's brace. Mohammed Sheriff and Percy Tau scored for the visitors.
"Congratulations to the club, players, the technical team and everyone involved," Rhulani said after the game before adding.
"These types of victories are not moments where you lose focus; you must still be very focused."
The 37-year-old tactician added that his charges still have a long way to go in the continental club competition.
"These types of victories are hazardous, so we must stay grounded. It's two more games left in the group, and we still have a long way to go in the CAF Champions League."
Sundowns travel to Sudan next to face Al Hilal before completing the group stage campaign with a home game against struggling Coton Sport, who sit bottom of the group without a win.
Having booked a quarter-final slot, the need to finish as group leaders is a feat Masandawana hopes to achieve.
Third-placed Al Ahly must win against Coton Sport and Al Hilal and hope Sundowns beat Al Hilal in Sudan.
The Brazilians sit top of group A with 10 points, while Al Hilal are second with a point behind.
