Possibly the strangest injury in the history of football
Bolton Wanderers striker and Super Eagles hopeful, Victor Adeboyejo, has found himself sidelined in the most unusual of circumstances after sustaining an injury from a "hefty sneeze."
Victor’s powerful sneeze
The bizarre injury ruled him out of Bolton's recent EFL Trophy victory against Barrow when Adeboyejo, unexpectedly injured himself during a simple sneeze that triggered a back problem.
Bolton Wanderers manager Ian Evatt shed light on the incident, recounting the unusual nature of the injury, saying, "Victor is a powerful boy, and even his sneezes are powerful.”
Adeboyejo reportedly felt a crack between his ribs following the sneeze, leading to concerns that it could be more than just a minor issue.
While the team awaits scan results, they remain hopeful the injury is related to cartilage or muscle, rather than something more serious.
Bolton prevail despite injuries
Despite Adeboyejo’s absence, Bolton Wanderers secured a 3-2 win over Barrow in the EFL Trophy and hope to move forward after battling a series of injuries, with international break absences further compounding their issues.
With just one win in League One so far this season, Evatt acknowledged the growing list of injuries, remarking light-heartedly, adding, "I have to start having a long look at myself when players start getting injured sneezing."
Nevertheless, the team will be looking forward to Adeboyejo’s quick recovery, as his return will be crucial for Bolton’s campaign moving forward.
