He currently hosts the smash hit podcast ‘ObiOne’, where he has interviewed some of the biggest stars in the game and reported exclusive content.
Mikel has also gotten himself involved in some of the biggest football events post-retirement. Last season, he was UEFA's guest for the Champions League knockout draws, and a few months later, he was one of the ‘celebrity or ex-footballers’ invited to the last Soccer Aid event.

Yesterday was probably the biggest event for Los Blancos this summer, and Kylian Mbappe was unveiled to 80,000 Real Madrid fans at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Today, Luka Modric was offered a contract extension until the end of next season. Flying just under the radar of these major events for Real Madrid supporters was the presence of Mikel at the Ciudad Real Madrid Florentino Perez.

The Super Eagles legend updated his followers on social media with pictures from the Real Madrid training ground as he exchanged pleasantries with some of the players participating in preseason training.
He joked with Lucas Vazquez about the rigours of preseason preparation, congratulated Modric on his new contract, and caught up with his old teammate Thibault Courtois, amongst others.
Mikel hinted that he had grander intentions for his visit, but he is currently keeping his cards close to his chest. It remains to be seen if he is acting in the capacity of Mikel Obi, the ex-pro, or Mikel, the host of the ObiOne podcast.
