Ola Aina has reportedly sealed an extra year with Premier League survivors Nottingham Forest
Nigerian full-back Ola Aina has been rewarded for an impressive season with Nottingham Forest with a one-year contract extension with the tricky tees.
Aina helps Nottingham Forest avoid relegation
Aina was one of Nottingham Forest’s best players in the 2023/24 season and the Super Eagles full-back helped the minnows escape the drop from the first division for the second season running.
Nottingham Forest finished in 17th place on 32 points, six points ahead of relegated 18th-placed side Luton despite a four-point deduction that threatened to derail their season.
Aina’s performances earn him new contract
Among the reasons for Nottingham managing to stay up against the odds was Nigerian full-back Ola Aina, who played in 22 Premier League matches despite spending time away at the Africa Cup of Nations with the Super Eagles.
Aina provided one goal and one assist for Nottingham Forest, with the Nigeria international scoring in a crucial 2-0 win over Aston Villa that helped steer the Tricky Tees towards Premier League safety.
His performances over the course of the campaign have earned him a one-year extension on his current contract which will now expire in 2025.
