The Nigerian striker was a thorn in the flesh of Virgil van Dijk and other Liverpool defenders during the football lesson in Naples.
Super Eagles and SSC Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has reacted to the Champions League masterclass against Liverpool on Wednesday night.
Osimhen proved to be a handful for Liverpool defenders in a rather short but outstanding performance at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples.
The Nigerian international played an important role as Napoli kicked off the Champions League season in style after a 4-1 demolition of Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.
Osimhen created one chance, made one key pass, but his night will be remembered by the penalty miss, which he also won after making Van Dijk suffer.
Osimhen reacts to short-lived time against Liverpool
While Osimhen proved too hot for Van Dijk and his teammates to handle, his time on the pitch against the Reds was a short one.
After an incredible first 40 minutes which saw Napoli dominate Liverpool and could have been up by as many of five goals, Osimhen was substituted four minutes to the break.
It was early showers for the Super Eagles man 23 minutes after he missed a penalty for his Napoli side with the score line delicately poised at 1-0.
Giovanni Simeone, who replaced the 23-year-old who was subbed off with a suspected injury, went on to score Napoli's third goal just three minutes after coming on.
Osimhen took to his social media account to react to the night which he described as a "bittersweet" one.
"Bittersweet feeling for me," Osimhen posted on his Twitter page.
"Great performance from the whole squad," he added. "God is the gteatest."
Osimhen watched on from the bench as his teammates, goals from Andre Zambo Anguissa, Simeone and Piotr Zielinski, who opened the scoring as well, earned Napoli a comprehensive victory over the hapless Liverpool, who had Luis Diaz to thank for making the score line more respectable with a consolation.
