Nigeria Super Falcons forward Jennifer Echegini becomes the latest Nigerian in Italy after joining Juventus Women.
Italian giants Juventus have strengthened their attacking department following the transfer of Nigerian forward Jennifer Echegini.
The Super Falcons star has joined Juventus’ Women's team, putting pen to paper on a two-year contract that will see her wear the black and white until the summer of 2026.
Juventus confirm Echegini
The Old Ladies took to social media to confirm the signing of the talented forward, who has joined the club from Florida State soccer side, Seminoles.
“Juventus is delighted to announce the signing of Jennifer "Joe" Echegini, the latest addition to Joe Montemurro's Juventus Women team,” the club noted in a statement.
Pulse Sports Nigeria reported that the award-winning Nigeria Super Falcons forward Jennifer Onyi Echegini is set to swap the United States of America's NCAA for Italian giants Juventus.
The 22-year-old has had an excellent time at Florida State soccer side Seminoles, where she spent two seasons.
Echegini established herself as one of the best players in her collegiate, signing off with an award-winning campaign and a spot in Nigeria’s Super Falcons side to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, FIFAWWC.
According to the report, she was among the finalists of the MAC Hermann, the most prestigious award in US university football. In December, she also obtained another highly valuable recognition, winning the Honda Sport Award for women's football.
She was then MVP of the ACC Tournament, “ACC Offensive Player of the Year” and named to the “United Soccer Coaches First Team All-American”.
Echegini, who netted 16 goals last year for her Florida team, will now look to take her game to the next level by starring for the Italian giants.
