My Brain tells me — Arteta on who will win the Premier League
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta bangs his team's drums ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester United.
The Manchester club remain interested, however, and will make another push for him this summer, and Bruno Fernandes, who has hinted at an openness to leave, could be entered into a swap deal.
Bruno Fernandes open to leaving
In a conversation with DAZN Portugal, the former Sporting Lisbon midfielder discussed his future. Bruno spoke honestly, leaving the door for an exit open, suggesting he could consider leaving Manchester United as early as this summer.
“Obviously, it doesn’t just depend on me, does it?” Fernandes said. “A player always has to want to be here, but at the same time, you have to want him to stay. At the moment, I feel there’s that on both sides.
“I’m not thinking too much about the future, not least because, obviously, this season hasn’t been at the level I’d hoped for, either individually or collectively, so far.
“So, if you want me to be very honest, if I have to think about not continuing in the Premier League, it won’t be until after the Euros because nothing will be able to take my focus away from the FA Cup final and the Euros, as there’s nothing more important than that at the moment.”
Bruno - De Jong swap deal
A recent report from the Spanish publication Nacional revealed that the Manchester United leadership are making a return for De Jong. However, they are said to be unwilling to match Barcelona’s ask of €90 million.
They are said to be proposing a swap deal which would see Bruno Fernandes move the other way, plus an additional €20 million to convince Barcelona to sell Frenkie de Jong.
