The decision to drop the youngster continues to generate intense debate.
Former AFC Leopards striker Boniface Ambani has urged Gor Mahia’s Benson Omala to remain motivated despite missing out on a place in the Harambee Stars squad.
Omala failed to make it to the final 23-man squad after head coach Engin Firat trimmed the squad.
The in-form striker was not considered for a position in the team that will face Iran on March 28 as Firat decided to stick with Michael Olunga, Elvis Rupia, and Alfred Scriven.

FOOTBALL Uproar as nineteen goal Omala is axed from Harambee Stars trip to Tehran
The team departs on Sunday for an International friendly against Iran.
"I do feel, this young man could have been included in that team," Ambani wrote on his Facebook page.
"What he is doing in the KPL is something that shouldn't have been overlooked. All in all, Benson Omalla, keep going; your sweet time will come."
Omala has had a convincing campaign so far, as he has netted 19 Football Kenya Federation Premier League goals for Gor Mahia.
Many hoped the youngster would be retained in the final squad and prove his worth at the international level.

FOOTBALL 'Marcelo' confident of Harambee Stars' giant slaying mission against Iran
Kenya will travel to Tehran for a friendly game slated for Tuesday.
As some fans remain agitated with Firat after dropping the former Kisumu Day star, Kenneth Muguna, Abdalla Hassan, Richard Odada, and Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma remain optimistic ahead of the friendly that will be played in Tehran.
Meanwhile, Harambee Stars have intensified their training as they gear up for their first international engagement in almost a year.
Harambee Stars had been sanctioned by FIFA after the government moved on to disband the Football Kenya Federation national executive committee in 2022.
The suspension barred Kenya from participating in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, but with the return, Firat is hopeful he will guide Kenya to the continental tournament in the future.
