Simon Tamale's excellence in the recently concluded Uganda Premier League season continues to attract big praises and rewards for him.
Moments after receiving a second nomination in the Pilsner Player of the month for May, the Maroons FC custodian got awarded at the Fortbet Real Star awards.
Tamale was named the finest footballer for May, fending off opposition from Kitara FC star Paul Mucureezi and Vipers SC skipper Milton Karisa.
The aforementioned developments happened on Tuesday at a ceremony at Lazio restaurant in Kampala.
The talented goal-minder kept four clean-sheets in as many matches in the final bend of the Uganda Premier League.
He shut out all the threat against SC Villa, with Maroons beating them 1-0, didn't concede against Gaddafi FC (0-0), managed the same against Onduparaka FC (1-0) before locking out BUL FC in the last game of the season, which ended in a barren stalemate.
The four shutouts for the month took him to 12 for the season, the most by any goalkeeper in the topflight.
Tamale also picked three Man of the Match awards against Villa, Gaddafi and Onduparaka, making it seven accolades of the kind for the season.
Meanwhile, his competitors for the Fortbet were also superb, with Karisa guiding Vipers to the sixth league title, while Mucureezi led Kitara back to the Uganda Premier League.
Best of May.
