Suluhu has ordered Yanga to solve the existing contract saga with player Feisal Salum ‘Fei Toto.’

Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan has directed CAF Confederation Cup finalists Yanga to solve the issue regarding Taifa Stars midfielder Feisal Salum Abdallah alias Fei Toto.

The 25-year-old has been pushing to leave Yanga since December 2022 but the Tanzanian champions requested him to follow the correct procedure to get a release letter.

The President spoke during a dinner event at State House, where she hosted Yanga as they jetted back into the country from the CAF Confederation Cup final second leg in Algeria.

“It does not make me happy to hear that a club is in conflict with a player, this is not good at all,” she said.

“To the management, let me request you to end your misunderstandings with Feisal. It does not make sense for a big club of your status to be in conflict with such a young player.”

President Samia added that Yanga should update her on the issue's outcome, and whenever the two parties are ready, they should visit her for feedback.

Fei Toto terminated his contract with the club and returned the initial signing fee he had received while joining the club.

Yanga rejected his request, forcing the player to turn to the Tanzania Football Federation, where the body ruled in favor of the club, stating he should return.

Fei Toto’s last match in the Yanga jersey before the transfer controversy was a 3-0 win over Coastal Union on December 20, 2022.

Since then, the midfielder missed several high-profile matches that the club played in the league, and in the CAF Confederation Cup, they missed the title on the away goals rule.

Nasreddine Nabi’s charges secured a 1-0 victory over USM Alger of Algeria on Saturday night in Algiers. However, it was not enough, as Yanga lost 2-1 to USM Alger in Dar es Salaam the previous week.
