The 54-year-old has previously coached Equatorial Guinea, Burundi, Kenya, Libya, Botswana and Yemen of recent on the international level.
The Tanzania Football Federation has appointed experienced Adel Amrouche as head coach of their national team ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda Cranes later this month.
Amrouche takes over from Zambian Honour Janza who left the country for other assignments back in his home country.
Janza had taken the mantle from Kim Poulsen late last year after the Danish coach was demoted for losing to Uganda in an Africa Nations Championships qualifier.
“We’ve managed to get a coach after scrutinizing from a list of over a hundred applicants,” TFF’s secretary general Wilfred Kidao said during the unveiling on Tuesday evening in dar Es Salaam.
The unveiling ceremony was also attended by Tanzania’s Minister for Culture, Arts and Sports, Dr. Pindi H. Chana.

“Adel comes with vast experience in clubs and national teams including Burundi, Libya and Kenya. We asked our neighbours where he has coached and they had good words for him," Kidao added/
Taifa Stars are pooled in Group F of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers together with Algeria, Niger, and Uganda.
They face Uganda this month on Friday 24th and Tuesday 28th in a matchday 3 and 4 double-header of the qualifiers.
