Tanzania’s Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports Amb Dr. Pindi Chana revealed that the government has taken the step to shoulder the burden of paying the coach’s hefty salaries.

The government of President Samia Suluhu has pledged to pay all the salaries and expenses of the newly-appointed Taifa Stars head coach Adel Amrouche.

The Belgo-Algerian was unveiled to the media earlier in the week ahead of the tough 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Group Qualifier against Uganda Cranes.

Tanzania’s Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports Amb Dr. Pindi Chana revealed that the government has taken the step to shoulder the burden of paying the coach’s hefty salaries.

“The government has committed to supporting the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) to grow the sport of football in the country,” Chana revealed adding, “As part of that, the government has offered to pay the salary of the Taifa Stars head coach.

“We congratulate the TFF for completing the search for a qualified coach who we believe will take us far.”

Amrouche’s immediate task is guiding the Stars against Uganda in a double-header on Friday 24th and Tuesday 28th later this month.

Both neighbours have managed a single point from two outings so far.
